Kickdrum migrated Envision user management to serverless Lambdas and AWS Simple Queue Service to remove latency and improve authentication performance.

RESULTS

Users were experiencing long load times and timeouts

Envision’s IAM system experienced timeouts due to long warm-up times for a number of functions, and inaccurate user data due to issues with an automated synchronization system. Users would frequently timeout from applications while navigating the application.

Kickdrum migrated Envision’s IAM to AWS managed services

Kickdrum rebuilt Envision’s IAM services using AWS managed services including SQS, Lambdas, Opensearch, and Cloudwatch. Automatic warm-ups and graceful failures were implemented to improve user experience and reduce timeouts. 

Timeouts were eliminated and performance improved

After deployment, Envision users stopped experiencing timeouts and page load times were improved by an average of 300%. In the months immediately following deployment, not a single user support issue was raised in relation to the IAM system.
